How Webtools handles account, project and storefront information.

Draft migrated from the previous site and updated for the current product. It requires qualified legal review before publication as final legal advice or a binding production agreement.

Effective date: 13 August 2026

Information Webtools receives

The information we receive depends on how you use the platform.

  • Account details such as name, email address, profile image and authentication records.
  • Project details such as names, settings, enabled features, domains, members and API-key metadata.
  • Business records you place in a project, including catalogue, content, customer, order, subscriber and enquiry data.
  • Billing records such as plan, payment reference, entitlement and subscription status.
  • Support messages, notification state and operational activity associated with your account or projects.
  • Technical information needed for security, reliability, rate limiting and service diagnostics.

How information is used

Webtools uses information to provide and secure the account, dashboard, project tools and APIs you choose to use.

  • Authenticate accounts and storefront customers and enforce project access.
  • Store and deliver project content and commerce data through authorised interfaces.
  • Process Webtools project billing and maintain payment and entitlement records.
  • Send account, security, billing, support and service communications.
  • Operate analytics, search logs, notifications, activity history and abuse prevention where enabled.
  • Investigate errors, protect the platform and improve reliability.

Merchant and storefront data

Project owners decide what information their storefront collects through Webtools, including customer accounts, orders, subscriptions and enquiries. Those project owners are responsible for giving their own visitors appropriate notices and collecting any consent their use case requires.

Dashboard accounts and storefront customer accounts are separate identities. Project data is scoped to the project that collected it.

Payment information

Webtools project billing may redirect an authorised project member to Paystack. Webtools retains payment references, status and related billing records needed to manage the project entitlement, but does not claim to store full payment-card details.

Storefront checkout is separate from Webtools project billing. The current storefront checkout flow defaults to manual payment handling by the merchant and its chosen provider.

Service providers and disclosure

Webtools may use infrastructure, storage, email, analytics, security and payment providers to operate the service. Information is shared only as needed for those providers to perform their role, to comply with law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a properly managed business transaction.

Security and retention

Webtools uses technical and organisational safeguards intended to protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Information is retained for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements.

Your choices and rights

You may update supported account and project information in the dashboard. Subject to applicable law and verification, you may request access, correction or deletion of information associated with your account. Project owners are responsible for handling rights requests from their own storefront customers where they control that data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product or legal requirements change. The effective date will be updated when material revisions are published.
